Chapter 2.12 FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION
2.12.078 Unlawful activation or report of alarm.
(a) No person shall activate a fire alarm system for the
purpose of summoning the fire department except in the event of a fire or
medical emergency, or if the person needs immediate assistance in order to avoid
injury or serious bodily harm.
(b) Any person who shall notify the fire department of an
activated alarm and have knowledge that such activation was apparently caused by
an electrical or other malfunction shall at the same time advise the fire
department of the apparent malfunction.
(c) Violations of this section are subject to fine as
established in Section 2.08.350. (Ord. O-15-04 (part), 2004)
