2.08.340 No response to frequent false alarms.

(a) To discourage false alarms, the chief of police shall adopt a process of sending a letter, or delivering other written notice informing the alarm user of the false alarm. This letter should explain the consequences of excessive false alarms and the need to take corrective action. This letter should further explain the possibility that five false alarms in a calendar quarter may result in the police department disregarding alarms from the premises.
(b) If subsection (a) of this section applies, the police department will not respond to alarm requests for immediate police assistance, unless there is an in-person call from someone at or near the premises or other independent information that verifies the need for an immediate police response This does not include panic, silent, or duress alarms to which there will be an immediate response.
(c) On the fifth false alarm in a calendar quarter further actions may be imposed upon the alarm user, including, but not limited to: requiring the alarm user to have the security alarm system inspected by a licensed alarm company to ensure that all mechanical components of the alarm system are in good working order, proof of which must be submitted to the alarm administrator; the alarm user must also be retrained by the alarm company on proper use of the alarm system.
