The attorney shall prosecute and defend all civil actions in which the city may be a party and shall prosecute on behalf of the city all criminal cases in the municipal court whenever requested to do so by the mayor or council. The attorney shall appear on behalf of the municipality and its officers in all legal proceedings to which any have an interest as an official of the municipality. (Prior code § 1-4-56)
