1.08.030 Compensation.

(a) The mayor and council members shall be paid an annual salary in accordance with the amounts determined by council. Adjustments to salaries of council members shall not become effective until the commencement date of the terms of two or more members elected at the next general election following adoption of the ordinance adjusting salaries, at which time it will become effective for all members.
(b) Members of council and the mayor shall receive reimbursement for actual expenses incurred as a result of the ordinary exercise of their public duties, upon the presentation to the city clerk-treasurer of vouchers, or a statement of expenses incurred, provided such expenses do not exceed fifty dollars per month for members of council and one hundred dollars per month for the mayor. Extraordinary expenses shall be provided for, if anticipated sufficiently in advance, in the annual budget. Unanticipated extraordinary expenses and ordinary expenses in excess of the amounts provided in this section shall be reimbursed only upon approval of city council by resolution at a regular meeting, upon a showing of good cause by the person claiming entitlement to such reimbursement.
